Video Virgins 21, New Sensations, Aug 1, 1995
Well-shot two-hour loop tape of six "new" pros. Nici Sterling probably
sells the tape; Monique DeMoan steals the show; look for Snow in her
next tape.
Video Virgins gets my award for 'most improved' series over the last
few years. The first tapes were incredibly bad-- smudgy camera work;
loopy interviews; Ron Jeremy in every other scene; and women who carried
themselves like they had just been released from county jail. Nonetheless,
there were some early loops of Kaitlyn Ashley, Tammi Ann, Vixxxen, Anna
Malle, Shonna Lynn (don't hold me to this list) and other well-known
current performers back when they had natural tits and were more
enthusiastic.
Video Virgins' gimmick: These were supposed to be loops of women who
had never had an orgasm on camera before. Not a bad gimmick, and it
seemed to hold the early loops together: They were fun to watch while
eating pizza with a couple of friends.
Somewhere along the way, VV replaced the studs; the girls; the camera;
and added an hour to the tape. someone on the team took a community
college TV broadcasting class; and they hired an editor. The latest
ten volumes are much, much improved-- I think #18 had Paisley
Hunter, and presented Kelly Trump with Rocco Siffredi, for instance.
This series has matured to become a well-produced, graphic docu-series,
almost as graphic as a Zane/Max Hardcore tape; but with the style of a
Borsky 'Anal'loop,and with loops often providing the beauty of a
Vivid/Legend/VCA feature. Where Nasty Nymphos emphasizes athletic
intensity, VV emphasizes assertiveness and sensuality and has more
close-ups.
Video Virgins still pretends to shoot girls having orgasms on screen
for the first time-- every loop begins with well-posed masturbation
muff and head scenes, where the girls are really convincing. This
is the only cheap loop tape series I've seen, where the girls
consistantly assert themselves as partners in the performance; moving,
reacting, and even occasionally taking the initiative. You won't see
that with Ed Powers, Max Hardcore, or even Nasty Nymphos very often.
I like seeing the girls move for a change.

SCENE ONE: Monique DeMoan-- a slim mid 20s exotic brunette, with slim
hips and an immensely photogenic pussy. Monique is a little passive--
early in her career, she would just hold a pose and hold her breath
at the same time. Someone talked to her this year, and now she's
learned how to move. She's much more responsive and assertive than her
performance in Nasty Nymphos 10-- which also was a good loop. Monique
simply doesn't hold a pose that doesn't look flattering in this loop--
and when she finally holds a doggie pose--- well, she does the best
doggie since Tammi Ann. You get 23 minutes; lots of well-chosen
close-ups; four poses, and a weak butt cum. This is visually the
hottest loop on the tape.
SCENE TWO: (Blonde I can't identify). Fair scene with a mid-20s
natBlonde, small natTits, pale complexion, fair sense of humor.
The camera is not kind to her thighs. She's a little awkward but
still game-- actually rather appealing. She zones out to lust city
about half-way through-- the way Vanessa Chase does sometimes.
This was an uninspired loop, but decently shot and performed.
SCENE THREE: China Lee is a bisexual Eurasian cross between Betty
Boop and the Dragon Lady from 'Terry and the Pirates.' She has an
overwhelmingly friendly, humorous, sensual, 'can-do' personna in her
best loops that would bring the dead back to life.
China Lee is NOT a Vivid girl-- she has a Ricky Nelson smile smeared
across her face; a long nose; shapeless calves, a thick waist if
viewed from the wrong camera angles, and 28-year-old tits. She is
also intelligent, has a great sense of humor, will do anything
twice, and has a strong personality that pulls all these elements
together into a sensual performance package that's too strong to
do a stylized Borsky flick any time soon. I really like her.
Professionally, China Lee is a little like Dalny-- she performs her
ass off, but has terrible, terrible taste in the videos she chooses
to appear in-- and she is often the BEST performer in a BAD tape.
Catch either 'Sperm Busters' or 'Cum Eaters' for both Dalny and
China Lee to see what I mean-- but be prepared to watch some bad
movies.
This is a good loop, but not China Lee's best. China dildos herself
to an intensely athletic multi-part climax, and then procedes through
about four average positions shot from uninspired positions. We get
few close-ups, and the director uses harsh lights that cast shadows
in all the wrong places. Still, China turns in a good, aggressive
performance. Ends after 22 minutes in a silly tit-shot.
SCENE FOUR: Nici Sterling. Nici is friendly, ready, very glamorous,
but a little too slick here. She claims this is her first double-
penetration, but who knows? It was an average show-- you get some
nice medium shots of a lovely, well-apholstered brunette body that's
ready to go; some good close-ups; and four positions.
The dp lasts one minute and fifteen seconds. It is not quite
coordinated. The guys obscure the butt-shot, and the camera catches
some shadows instead of action. Video Virgins still does better
than Nasty Nymphos #9 did,however--- which means it is still a
good loop. Just don't expect athleticism, heat, or a dp you can
really *see*.
NOTE: For a couple of good dps, rent Sean Michael's 'Up Your Ass'--
Missy and Shonna Lynn and the boys do everything right,
even if Shonna Lynn is wearing a ridiculous blonde wig.
... And I still like Alex Dane in Borsky's 'Booty Ho 3'.
SCENE FIVE: Frankie Layne is a stripper approaching 30, with a
well-conditioned but oddly shaped body-- a little too seasoned to
be in Video Virgins. She's still appealing and puts on a good show.
She has a very flexible body, displays it well, and knows it-- but
doesn't show us any unusual contorted positions. She performs
sex like she was shaking hands with her handsome butcher.
SCENE SIX: Snow; a petite 18+ natBlonde with a future. She doesn't
pose well but moves naturally and looks naturally appealing through
the whole video. She really works on her partner through two
positions, but just lies there through two more. She's cute, and
will look even better in a few months.
BOTTOM LINE: First place for second choice on Friday night-- unless
you love Nici or Monique, who turn in very good (not quite graphic)
performances. You might rent this to see Snow in a year, out of
curiosity. ... and don't rent this tape for the facials.
